Downstream

To remain at the forefront of global energy provision, it’s vital we constantly expand our refining and petrochemical production capabilities. That’s why we maintain substantial domestic refineries across the Kingdom as well as an integrated chemicals complex that can produce more than three million tons of diversified chemicals and plastics every year. And that’s just the beginning.

Jobs in downstream

We need world-class people to manage and operate our network of bulk plants and air-fuelling units, plus our in-house laboratories, which develop innovative techniques to support our refining and distribution operations. Join us and you will experience challenges and opportunities on an unrivalled scale.

Refining & NGL Fractionation

The scope of our downstream business is reflected by more than 1.2 million barrels per day (bpd) of refining capacity in Saudi Arabia.

Our Jazan project combines a refinery and terminal and is central to transforming Jazan into an economic city – a place where diverse industries can invest to create prosperity and exceptional employment opportunities. Covering 12 square kilometers and showcasing state-of-the-art technology, Jazan delivers a naphtha hydro-treating process for feedstock purification, an aromizing continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR) reforming process for producing aromatics, a C5/C6 isomerization process for creating gasoline, a ParamaX process for producing paraxylene and benzene, and a Prime-D gas oil desulfurization hydro-treater for low-sulfur diesel (ULSD).

What’s more, we’re continuing to expand our refining capacity at Shaybah and invest heavily in our Wasit Gas Plant, so this is an exciting time to join us. You can be part of a ground-breaking team, developing and using cutting-edge technology to avert the energy crisis – and power a career you will never forget.

240,000bdp Our Wasit Gas Plant alone will add 240,000 bpd of NGL fractionation capacity.

Marketing, Supply & Joint Venture Co-ordination

Planning and scheduling our crude oil, gas, NGL, and refined products is crucial to ensuring supply matches demand. But that’s not all: you will also coordinate the activities of our operating, maintenance, and project management teams whilst resolving operation problems that could interrupt supply. Along the way, you’ll work on some of the most complex problems in the industry and collaborate with household-name companies from across the world.

  • The Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) is our joint venture with Asia’s largest refiner, Sinopec.

  • Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company (FREP), is our joint venture with Fujian Petrochemical Company Limited, ExxonMobil, China Petroleum and PetrochemicalCompany Limited (Sinopec), and the Fujian provincial government.

  • Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) is our joint venture with France’s Total and one of the largest, most complex refineries in the world.

Pipelines, Distribution & Terminals

Pipelines are central to everything you do – this is the most cost-effective, reliable, and efficient way of transporting energy to our processing plants, refineries, and major distribution points.

Join us and you will oversee tens of thousands of kilometers of crude oil, natural gas, NGL, and refined product pipelines that stretch across the Kingdom. You will find yourself conducting feasibility and conceptual studies, commissioning design, overseeing operations, and managing decommissioning, so every day will bring different challenges.

In short, you will be at the heart of the projects that shape the future of our industry. Operating alongside thought leaders in oil and gas, you will quickly become an expert yourself on pipeline inspection, corrosion, integrity, valves, hydraulic simulations, instrumentation, project management, and a great deal more.

Chemicals

We are proud of our position as the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals company. To sustain this status, we need to recruit, inspire, and retain hundreds of technical experts. Join us and we can offer you career challenges on an unrivalled scale, plus the chance to multiply your skills as you enjoy enormous impact on the local and global economy.

Sadara Sadara (under construction) will be the world’s largest integrated chemicals complex ever built in a single phase, with the production capacity to produce more than 3 million tons of diversified chemicals and plastics per year.

Power Systems Engineering Department (PSED)

At the heart of our Power Systems organization, PSED delivers technical engineering knowledge and direct field engineering support services across our Generation and T&D facilities. The team is also responsible for the management of all Protection and Control systems, Automation, and Smart Grid applications and plays a vital part in our Capital Projects Program, joint venture cogeneration activity, and renewable energy initiatives.

Join us in this crucial area and you could find yourself piloting new technologies, conducting electrical asset lifecycle and condition assessment studies, or technically investigating major power system outages. You will certainly find yourself developing diverse new skills and boundless confidence as you make your mark on some of the biggest energy projects in the world today.

Power Systems Planning Department (PSPD)

Demand for energy is growing by around 7% every year, so it’s vital for everyone that we optimize our energy value chain and become more sustainable and efficient. Enter our PSPD team.

Assessing the Kingdom’s long-term demand for power, the team enhances overall efficiency, optimizes fuel-mix utilization through best dispatching scenarios, and delivers planning policies and fuel consumption guidelines to drive continuous improvement.

Join us and you can profoundly shape the future of our organization and the wider Kingdom.

Power Systems Renewables Department (PSRD)

Renewable energy is central to our mission. It’s also vital to our planet. That’s why we’re determined to place our business and the Kingdom at the heart of the renewable energy industry.

You can make it happen as you evaluate technologies to harness renewable resources and help us produce clean energy through solar parks and wind farms. Bringing your innovative ideas to life, you will play your part in solving the climate crisis as you deliver the pollution-free energy to give everyone a better future.

Currently, we have 300 megawatts of solar and wind energy projects under study.
