Hiring process

We aim to make our hiring process as straightforward and as smooth as possible – from the moment you submit your CV to the moment you arrive in Saudi Arabia to begin your employment with Saudi Aramco. Whether it’s the recruiters updating on interview arrangements, a specialist advisor helping you through the relocation process, or meeting you at the airport, you get expert support every step of the way.

who we look for

Saudi Aramco is looking for experienced professionals, educated to degree level or equivalent, who want to make their mark on world-class oil and gas operations while enjoying the rewards of living and working in Saudi Arabia. We usually look for candidates who have around 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.

If you are a student or recent graduate interested in a future career with Saudi Aramco, you might consider developing your expertise further before applying. It would also be helpful if your work experience directly related to the position for which you’re applying.

Innovation is highly valued at Saudi Aramco, so we’re always interested in thesis work that furthers the industry's general knowledge of oil and gas exploration and production. Plus, being an active member of a relevant professional association is a real advantage.

application

application

If your CV shows the skills we’re looking for, our hiring organization will ask you to complete an Application for Employment – which standardizes and sets out the information we need. If you think you have the right skills, why not complete this application when you submit your CV, since this will reduce the time you need to wait for a response.

interview

interview

If your application is successful, you will be invited to a face-to-face interview with some of our technical representatives. This will take place within our London or Houston offices, or at a recruiting event elsewhere in the world. In some cases, we can also carry out an interview via video conferencing.

offer

offer

Upon Saudi Aramco's authorization, Aramco Services Company (ASC), Aramco Overseas Company UK (AOC UK), or a regional external office acting on behalf of Saudi Aramco will give you a written conditional offer of employment. This offer specifies those conditions that must be met by you to take up employment with Saudi Aramco and outlines the compensation package being offered. A detailed "salary worksheet" is provided with the offer letter. This conditional offer is contingent upon meeting the specified conditions, which are required before you can be employed by Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia.

relocation

relocation

After accepting our offer, you’ll be assigned a Relocation Advisor. They will help meet any processing requirements, including:

  • Clearing a medical examination and background checks.
  • Obtaining our clearance for any dependants who will attend Saudi Aramco Schools.
  • Having a visa, which we will have arranged for you with the Saudi Arabian Consulate.
  • Having your personal effects packed – we’ll arrange and pay for their shipment from your home to Saudi Arabia, as well as the return shipment when your employment with us ends.
  • Giving notice to your current employer.
  • Travelling to Saudi Arabia.

Visas

To live and work in Saudi Arabia, you’ll need to secure a visa and residence permit from the Saudi Arabian government. Our team will fully support you throughout the entire visa application process.

orientation

orientation

Accepting an offer to work and live overseas is a major decision that affects the whole family, so we strongly encourage spouses to attend an orientation to help make that decision. This will give you and your spouse the information you need about Saudi Aramco and its compensation, benefits, and hiring process.

If your orientation is in Houston, Aramco Services Company (ASC) will cover the round-trip airfare and hotel reservations for you and your spouse. Meals and certain miscellaneous expenses will also be covered in a lump sum payment at the time of the interview. The orientation may also be conducted at recruiting workshops.

arrival

arrival

Saudi Aramco has a general office at Dammam airport, which is open 24 hours a day. Here, you’ll be issued with a temporary identification card and information on the local orientation that you’ll attend soon after you arrive.

The Expatriate Recruitment Division maintains an office specifically for meeting new hires, and this is open whenever you arrive. A company representative will meet you on arrival and take you to your accommodation.

Please note that, in accordance with Saudi Arabian government immigration authority directives, all unaccompanied females arriving in the Kingdom for the first time must be escorted by a Saudi Aramco representative from the immigration area to their residence location.
