downstream

To achieve our vision, we’re making serious investments to expand our refining and petrochemical production capabilities. We already have four domestic refineries at Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Yanbu’, and Jiddah. Plus, we’ve just completed a joint venture 400,000 bpd refinery, started construction on a project to build a refinery and terminal in the Kingdom’s southwest, and are nearing completion of an integrated chemicals complex capable of producing more than 3 million tons of diversified chemicals and plastics per year.

With this amount of expansion, we need people to work in our broad network of bulk plants and air-fuelling units, as well as our in-house laboratories, which develop innovative techniques to support our refining and distribution operations.

To find out how our energy can become your opportunity, explore our downstream areas below.

Refining & NGL Fractionation

Our commitment to grow our downstream business is reflected in the fact that within a short period, we will have built 1.2 million bpd of refining capacity in Saudi Arabia through our SATORP joint venture (2014), the YASREF joint venture (2014), and our largest refinery project – Jazan (2017).

Comprising a refinery and a terminal, this project is the centerpiece of transforming Jazan into an Economic City – a strategy to nurture non-oil based industries, expand existing industries and rejuvenate the entire region by providing employment opportunities. When completed, the refinery and terminal are expected to cover an area of 12 km² and house many state-of-the-art technologies, including naphtha hydro-treating process for feedstock purification; the aromizing continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR) reforming process for producing aromatics; the C5/C6 isomerization process for the production of gasoline; the ParamaX process for paraxylene and benzene production; and the Prime-D gas oil desulphurization hydro-treater for the production of ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD).

What’s more, with the expansion of our refining capacity at Shaybah and the completion of our Wasit Gas Plant, we will also add over 240,000 bpd of NGL fractionation capacity.

With this sort of investment comes a world of opportunity for anyone working in refining and NGL fractionation. People who join us here can look forward to being part of a ground-breaking team, using the most up-to-date technology that exists – as well as helping to develop new ones that set the pace for the entire industry.

240,000bdp Our Wasit Gas Plant alone will add 240,000 bpd of NGL fractionation capacity.

Marketing, Supply & Joint Venture Co-ordination

Marketing, Supply & Joint Venture Coordination at Saudi Aramco plans and schedules our crude oil, gas, and NGL and refined products production. It also coordinates the activities of our various operating, maintenance, and project management teams while resolving operating problems that affect our production and pipeline operations.

With our ever growing investment in downstream, working here is your opportunity to test your abilities on large-scale, complex projects and collaborate with some of the biggest companies across the world.

  • The Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) is our joint venture with Asia’s largest refiner, Sinopec.

  • Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Company (FREP), is our joint venture with Fujian Petrochemical Company Limited, ExxonMobil, China Petroleum and PetrochemicalCompany Limited (Sinopec), and the Fujian provincial government.

  • Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) is our joint venture with France’s Total and one of the largest, most complex refineries in the world.

Pipelines, Distribution & Terminals

From a cost, reliability, and efficiency standpoint, pipelines are a preferred method of transporting our energy to our processing plants, refineries, and major distribution points.

Our professionals here already oversee more than 20,000km of crude oil, natural gas, NGL and refined product pipelines across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – covering the full life cycle of a pipeline system from initial feasibility and conceptual studies to execution, commissioning, operation and decommissioning. With increasing energy demands, we anticipate needing a system of 28,610km of pipelines by 2020, an increase of 31% compared to the current network.

Join them now and you’ll be part of the major projects that are set to make a huge impact on our business and the global energy industry. Not only that, you’ll be working alongside oil and gas thought leaders, and can build your highly specialized knowledge of pipeline inspection, corrosion, integrity, valves, hydraulic simulations, instrumentation, project management and other disciplines related to pipeline operations and maintenance.

Chemicals

Our intent is to become the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals company by 2020. To do this, we’re increasing our chemicals business and so need the insight, experience, and technical expertise of hundreds of people. People who have the credibility, commitment and know-how to help us build an entirely new business from the ground up. People who are willing to invest their time and energy. People who want to see their careers evolve as our business develops.

Join us here and we can offer you a solid, secure future – not to mention extensive international exposure and the opportunity to see your ideas become reality. It’s a chance to collaborate, influence, and make a huge impact, both on the local economy and on a global scale.

Sadara Sadara (under construction) will be the world’s largest integrated chemicals complex ever built in a single phase, with the production capacity to produce more than 3 million tons of diversified chemicals and plastics per year.

Transforming offshore transportation

Marine Department offers innovative solution for offshore passengers: It’s fast, it’s cost-effective, and it has revolutionized the delivery of rig crews working in the Tanajib area. Where helicopters and crew boats once transported workers and equipment, two Fast Crew Supply Vessels — the Alya McCall and Seacor Leopard — dash between locations in a more efficient and safe manner. Able to reach speeds of up to 42 knots, these two vessels also have a capacity of at least 100 passengers each, as well as hundreds of square feet of deck space for cargo.
