Jay - Division Head
My name is Jay, I’m a Division Head in the unconventional business at Saudi Aramco, I’ve been here for four years and I am originally from Ontario, Canada.
I am ultimately responsible for the evaluation of the resource potential within the Kingdom. I find it very inspiring that every day when I go in to work I’m drilling wells between the largest oil field in the world and the largest gas field in the world. I am also doing this in an area where the company owns everything and we’re doing this with a very robust budget. Another thing I find very exciting about working in the unconventional group is the amount of unexplored territory – it’s almost equivalent to working in exploration in North America in the 1940s.
What brought me to Saudi Aramco was an international opportunity for me to use my North American unconventional skill set and apply it to world-class projects that will have a major impact on the Kingdom.
For me, the best thing about the Saudi Aramco lifestyle is the amount of family time together. We have a sail boat at the community yacht club and we even play ice hockey at a nearby rink. My two young boys are receiving a fantastic education at the Saudi Aramco School. One thing that is very impressive to me is the low student-teacher ratio.
If you are looking for a career where you can work world class assets in a frontier exploration environment and have plenty of personal time, you’ll find it here.
