My name is Ivan, I am a Geologist, and I work for the unconventional business in Saudi Aramco. I’ve been here for one year and I am originally from Bogota, Colombia.

My role is to integrate all the available data to be able to predict the best areas where unconventional resources can be accumulated. The magnitude and scale of the projects in Saudi Aramco is unique. We have a lot of seismic data that I have never seen in companies that I have worked in previously.

I think what I find inspiring is the fact my team members are from different nationalities, including Saudis, and we’re constantly sharing our knowledge and skills from our previous experiences. I’ve only been here for one year and I have seen my department grow double the size. I am confident that this growth will continue as we will drill more wells and acquire more data.

I decided to join Saudi Aramco because I dream big and I wanted to be part of this early phase exploration. There is a large Latin community here that is continuously growing. Whether you are in the offices, elevators or the community you can hear people speaking Spanish and that makes you feel like you’re home.
